I have four scars in a row from my cat straching me on my arm. I got the scars 3 or 4 months ago. Does Mederma really help to tone them down? They don't go up above the skin, but they are discolored. Thanks

Mederma can help people with all types of scars including those from cat scratches. The topical gel needs to be applied 3-4 times a day to really take advantage of it's effectiveness. I work with the brand and would be happy to send you a sample if you're interested. Just reply to awear@quixotegroup.com. I'd love to get your feedback on the product once you try it.

Maderma is actually cheaper than a lot of stuff I have used. I like the ones that have sunblock because that is what causes the most damage -- while the scar is healing you should get as little sun on that area as possible. I have used mostly silicone treatments until I found the maderma. I have used the pads but you have to change them every day. My daughters' were attacked by dogs & had major stiches and scarring to their sweet beautiful faces (yes, 2 separate incidences w/ separate family member dogs).
I have been using silicone at night & mederma during the day & the color seems to have evened out. It was an angry red scar & now it's all mostly skin tone-colored. They have recommended laser treatment but she's only 6 & I understand it can be painful & I think she's been through enough.

Depending on the size and how deep the wound was, it works pretty well on small scars. I used it on a scar about and 1/4 inch wide and 2 inches long on my fore arm and I'm pleased with the way it now looks.

Mederma works great, you have to apply it 3 or 4 times a day and they will disappear within a month or so.

I don't know about that product, but I can tell you that Scarfade does work. My daughter was bit by a dog (on her face) and as nasty as the bite was, there is absolutely no trace of scars. Highly recommend it.

I had back surgery and used it, I still have a huge scar. So, I wasn't impressed with it, and it was pretty expensive.
