Most of the people who do defend illegals have ulterior motives. Are you familiar with Jerry Springer? He has a radio show in addition to the popular TV show, but there are no transvestite vampires on this show. It's a political show in which people could call in. Many people who called in who deffended illegals did so because they employed illegals and they depended on paying the lower wages to fatten their own pocketbooks. There are also many illegals who have family here. I've met quite a few who were mad at those of us who didn't support illegals because their families couldn't come over. I've been called racist, but I'm half Mexican though I look a bit lighter skinned than most. I have no problem with legal immigrants. If they go through the proper channels then they should be able to stay here. Back to the issue at hand. Many other people who support the illegals see it as having racial pride, showing they're proud to be Mexican if you will. A lot of the illegals played to that if you remember when they marched and waved the Mexican flags. What I would like to know is this. If Mexico is so great then what the hell are they doing here? Why don't they go back?

Usually it is those people that do not live near the border to understand its threat and just how bad it is. It is easy for someone who lives in safe suburbia or gated community to talk all they want. But how many people do you think know that Hezbollah terrorists boast and proudfully exclaim they come through to America illegally by Mexican border.

But no, in fact some people have actually wanted to put rest stops near the border so the illegals can get water and rest before, you know, they become illegal and start getting better way of life than actual Americans get. Who doesn't want free education, medical or money? Americans aren't getting it, but the bleeding heart human rights activists and other pro illegal immigrant idiots feel all the illegals should! Hope people saw on the news where illegals took the American flag off a post office, burnt it and raised a Mexican flag up in its place. ILLEGAL! What is there not to understand about that word??

I don't know.
Probably not, because all the politicos see hispanics as potential votes.

Greeneyed's point of view is a little off. Actually, revolution is an internationally accepted means of removing a government, and has nothing to do with the illegality of crossing international borders without written permission to do so.

If Greeneyed's point of view were valid, then the governments of these countries would also be illegal:
United States
Mexico
France
Russia
Cuba
Taiwan

I'll bet money that you have iggnored the law in the past because it suited you. But there's a big difference between some selfish driver racing down the street and risking the lives of everyone he encounters because he's in a big hurry (Oh, he's soooo important. He can't obey basc traffic laws!) and some poor soul who crosses an artifical border (who says the people over here are different than over there? just the government and their 'labels") in order to keep himself or herself and their children from starving to death.

The law is only sacred to people who do not understand where the law comes from. For example, by your thought processes, the United States should never have declared its independence from Great Britain, since that was against the law too. Sometimes you have to disobey the law to get it changed.

I don't defend them per sae, but I understand their place in American society. I get mad at all the people who have jumped on the bandwagon in the past few months, as if illegal immigration were a new problem or something.

wanting a better quality of life or a better job so you can afford clean clothes and water for your family is a hell of a lot different than speeding down the road or stealing a brand name shirt because you don't want to pay

It's just one of those mysteries that we're not suppose to understand or figure out. I also think and truly believe it's drug induced.
