My father asked me this last night and I want some opinions. Do you think that if humans were 40-50 feet tall instead of 5-6 that we would be as technologically advanced today. Like airplanes and cars? Nothing else but size changed, we are still as intelligent, just bigger.

I mean, eliminating all the obstacles, plenty of recourses, still alive, everything got larger. Would our airplanes for, instance exist, for how large we would be and how big the plane would have to be in order to lift 250 people.

No we wouldn't be as advanced. If you check out history, people that attain extreme hights do not live very long. It's a genetic thing. I love to sew but could you imagine having to make clothing for some one 40 or 50 feet tall?

I do not think we would exist any longer. The Earth has a way of rendering mammoth spieces extinct. Enviromental changes too greatly affect natural resources which, in turn create survival problems for overly large beings.

no because unless the rest of the objects(trees, animals, etc) in the world were also bigger, than most likely the worlds resources would have been scarce by now and people wouldn't have had time to advance in technology.

This is what you and your father discuss? We are in a war; we could be attacked again; we have a moron for a president and you are discussing 40' tall human beings? Maybe it's funny.

Our bodies would have to be built differently to support such weight. You can't just increase size using the same materials or construction methods.

Our technology would be as sophisticated but of a different dimension, and much more frightening; and that's scary considering where we're at now.
