it takes about 6-8 weeks to heal. don't change the ring until then..actually it's better to get it pierced with the barbell thing instead of a ring cuz the ring will heal funny or something. you'll be able to change the ring after about 6 weeks..but check to see if it's ready...make sure to twirl it around and if it hurts to twirl it then it's not ready to be changed. it means it hasn't fully healed yet. as for cleaning it, you can use any antibacterial soap (dial is what i used and it worked great) or spectro gel, or even a spray that you cna buy when you get it done. make sure to clean it very often..i had to clean mine about 5 times a say..definately when you wake up and before you go to bed, at the very least. if you sweat or anything (ie. being paranoid like me) clean it every 4-5 hours or so (they told me the belly button one of the dirtiest places on the body). it doesn't hurt, it's more like a little pinch, but make sure not to look when they do it..i did and thought they were done and just saw a needle pointing up at me :S... oh..and you can't swim for a certain time period after you get it done... maybe a month or so i think..i think that's all..good luck :)

Navel piercings take about the longest to heal - some as long as 6 months - mainly keep it clean and don't play with it. Might also be that they get more irritation from clothing. Mine healed very fast - within a few weeks - but that is not the norm. I used betadine to sterilize the area before and after and then Neosporin with pain relief alternating with plain vitamin E ointment. Don't go in a tub or swimming pool for a while. Be very diligent about following the instructions on your care sheet. They don't hurt too bad - the forceps are worse than the piercing. You wont want to change it until any swelling is gone - at least a few weeks. These are about the most popular piercing as they can be covered easily and shown only when you want.

It usually takes a few months to completely heal. It's not a good idea to change the piercing until it is healed, because the hole can close up very quickly. Just be sure to clean out the piercing well. My sister's ear piercing got infected and she still has scars on her ears.
Sure, it hurts, but it's just for a moment, and all my friends who have piercings say that it's not as bad as they thought it would be.

It depends on the girl wearing the belly button ring. Belly button rings don't look good on every girl.

I have one and it takes from 6-10 weeks to heal but don't change it for at least the first 6 weeks. It hurts but it feels like a really bad pinch. just keep up with the cleaning otherwise it will get infected. soap and water for the first few weeks with some bactine or salt water spray and then that's it.

It doesn't hurt at all. I had mine done on my 18 bd, and it didn't hurt. As for healing time, I have no clue. I took mine out after 7 months because it wasn't healed. And because I was pregnant and it was snagging on things which is why it probably didn't heal properly. But if you want one, get one. They dint hurt and I loved mine ( my husband hated it).

They heal pretty quickly. It is recommended that you leave any piercing in for a least 6 months before changing it. It is one of the least painful piercings, usually compared to the earlobes.

Having your navel pierced is the easy part. The pain doesn't set in until after the infection. Then, after the inflammation and pus go away the gangrene causes your belly to rot off. Good Luck
