Oral sex, yes if you have an open sore in your mouth. The same goes for kissing, if both parties have open sores in their mouths. Without the sores, kissing won't transmit the HIV virus, since it isn't present in sufficient amounts in saliva, only blood and other body fluids.

It's all about fluid exchange. HIV is present in blood and semen, but there is not enough in saliva to get it from kissing - unless you both have open sores in your mouth, which lets some blood be exchanged. It is very possible to get it through oral sex.

While it IS still possible to contract HIV, thru KISSING, the risk is EXTREMELY rare, as long as NIETHER of you have any open cuts or sores in or around the mouth area.

As for performing ORAL SEX, however, this poses probabally the MOST dangerous risk of contracting the disease, as you are swallowing the infected semen/ vaginal secretions DIRECTLY into your body (ESPECIALLY if EITHER of you have any cuts or sores in or around the mouth &/or genital area), as opposed to VAGINAL or ANAL sex, where in you may still have a SMALL amount of time before the virus enters your main bloodstream, were the infection will begin to take effect (As long as NIETHER of you have any open cuts or sores in or around the genital/anal area.)

If you MUST perform oral sex, however, make sure you use protection/condems EVERY time, even if your partner is NOT infected, as it is STILL possible to contract several OTHER nasty STDs through oral sex; which not only prove to be riskier, but also more severe as the symptoms will occur in the MOUTH & THROAT AREA instead of the genital/anal area, were it is easier to seek treatment for.

You probably should ask a doctor about this question, but I think you can get HIV from oral & kissing your basicaly swapping DNA in both.

I've heard that yes, it is - that's why they have dental dams for oral sex, and I've always heard no "deep" kissing with anybody HIV positive because they could have mouth sores, etc. that could let the virus into their mouth and then you might have mouth sores that could accept the virus. :)

It is possible with oral sex if you have a cut in your mouth or abrasions on your knob. Kissing is less likely, but not entirely safe.
