HOw and why did you start smoking?

How old were you? How did your parents react? Is smoking common in your family. I dont understand how someone could start smoking, but i know 12 and 14 year olds that smoke in my school. (i dont smoke!)

Smoking ciggarettes not weed, although alot of people around my6 area do that very young too!

I don't smoke. My husband did when we first started dating and quit when I was pregnant with our first child. He said he started smoking because his mom did and he wanted to appear cool to all his friends. I think it is gross and I am so proud of him for quitting --it has been 3 years now!

I smoked my first cig when I was 14. Why? To be cool and to fit in with the crowd I was trying to impress.Did it work? I'm 39, smoke 2 packs a day and watched my mother die from lung cancer last year! Have I quit? Smoking one at this minute.What you should know if you are considering this is that the nicotene in a cig is more addictive than any drug I know. And a hell of a lot stronger than me. Please don't start.

My Mom & my Grandfather smoked I used to steal cigarettes from them when I was around 10. Became a full time smoker when I was 12. I told my Mom and she didn't believe me. So I went to my hidding spot and brought the carton of MY cigarettes to her. What could she say, she was a smoker too. That was 33 years ago. My advice to you. DON'T ever try it. It's very addictive i've givin' up drugs, alcohol, but just can't stop smoking.

I started at 15, everyone smoked, it was before it became taboo.
good for you not starting. I quit between 3 and 20 times a day.
I can only think of 2 people in my family that don't. today, I wish I had never started. quitting is not as easy as starting. don't ever start!

once we got to see the lungs of a pig that were smoked to look like a smokers lung, they were disgusting,, and then we saw healthy lungs, they looked much better!

I don't smoke because i think it's bad for you. Why would you want to die from lung cancer, don't you care about your love ones. such as your kids if you have any, and also people who smoke have ugly teeth, and bad breath. Maybe you should stop!
