Sure, I like classical music. I prefer larger groups for the most part. Of my 1500 titles, more or less, the bulk of them are orchestral pieces. Favorites? I especially enjoy the pastoral music of Vaughan Williams (Symphony #3, The Lark Ascending, In The Fen Country). Respighi is another composer I frequently listen to (Ancient Airs & Dances, Brazilian Impressions, The Birds). Mendelssohn's Symphony #3 and #4 are both enjoyable.
A note of possible interest. There is a New Age group called Angels of Venice that you might be interested in. Their first album was titled Music For Harp, Flute And Cello which pretty much describes it. Very mellow renditions of some classical pieces. After that they begin to move into more experimental material. I would call their newer material very haunting in a pleasant way if that makes sense. Just a thought. See the link.
Some composers not typically considered classical by the purists are those who wrote the musical scripts for the great classic movies of the 40s and 50s. Fraz Waxman, Erich Korngold, and Max Steiner are a few names that come to mind. In fact, I changed the opening musical piece of Windows to Steiner's famous Warner Brothers Fanfare. (And my closing piece when Windows shuts down is Elmer Fudd saying "That's all folks!")

I used to HATE it, but the more I grow as a musician, the more I appreciate it. It must be rubbing off, because people have told me the riffs I've come up with lately have a classical feel to them. I never even tried to learn any of it, so i guess it goes to show the subconscious absorbs everything. (Plus, they only had 12 notes to work with, I only have 12..whaddaya gonna do?!) I especially like Mozart and Bach. It's hard for me to listen to a solo violin for very long, but some of Paganini's stuff is astounding.

Yes. One of my favorite pieces is Bach's "Piano Concerto No. 5 in F-Minor - Largo". I am also quite fond of the 1812 Overature.

Canon in D Minor composed by Johann Pachelbel 1785
He is best known for Albinoni's Adagio in G minor
It was my husband and my wedding song.
I enjoy all classical but that composer is my favorite.
Take Care = )

I love it all but I find that if I'm in a bad mood, Bach does it for me and if I'm in a happier, relaxed mood, Mozart. Of course there are exceptions for both but that's what I usually like.
