Yes. It is very possible for the disorder to be masked by something else like when children are considered to be gifted.. many of them qualify for a diagnosis of Attention Deficit Disorder.. and they don't do poorly in school usually because it comes so naturally.. and some of these people start to do bad in school around the middle school age because thats when studying starts for them and they realized that things don't exactly "click in". It could also be something brought on by puberty.. changes in hormones.

Sure... with puberty comes alot of psycological changes, and its possible to develop numerous "disorders" or so they're called

But most of the time its just called being a teenager... distractableness is normal. If you're really concerned, get whoever it is tested by a psych or something

yeah, my little brother never used to have it but he did by the age of 9. all of a sudden he would start to space out more and not realize that the question he had asked had just been asked right before. it's really weird.
