Did anakin skywalker have a dad and did his mom die before he went to the dark side??
Why did he go to the dark side??

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis "the wise"? It's a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life... He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. He became so powerful that the only thing he was afraid of... was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice (Palpatine) everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. It's ironic he could save others from death, but not himself.

Yes, Anakin had a mother, Shemi Skywalker, but she claimed there was no father. Some say that Darth Plageius may have influenced the conception of the "Chosen One", but what do I know.

Why did Anakin go to the dark side?

Anakin feared loss. He lost his mother to the sand people and he was fearful of losing Padame as well. Fear is a path to the dark side. "The nature of greed it is" as Yoda said. Greed tends to make you think of only yourself without consideration for others.

With this ever growing fear gnawing at him, Anakin sought to become the most powerful Jedi. That way he would fear nothing. Unfortunately, Palpatine used Anakin's fear to his advantage. The story of Darth Plageius was one way to coax Anakin to the Sith.

Anakin was also very arrogant, he was supposedly the "Chosen One" after all. With his ever expanding powers, Anakin felt he should not be bound by the rules of the Jedi Order. Anakin saw such rules as only a hindrance to himself and his quest for greater power. Anakin's reaction at not being named a Jedi Master in Episode III is a perfect example. It seems this perceived hindrance was also a major grudge Anakin had against Obi-wan.

In the end, Anakin's fear of loss, his lust for greater power to overcome his fear, and his extreme arrogance made his susceptibility to the dark side a foregone conclusion. As Yoda so eloquently said, Fear is the path to the Dark Side. Fear leads to anger; anger leads to hate; hate leads to Sith."

The id of Anakin's father is in no way printed. Shmi Skywalker, his mom, exhibits in Episode a million that he has no father, implying wonderful start. Owen is the son of Cliegg Lars. Owen will develop into Anakin's stepbrother after Shmi marries Cliegg.

His father's identity is never revealed, it seems that his mom "mysteriously" got impregnated. Geeks can speculate that this was some kind of "immaculate conception", but I personally think Mrs. Skywalker just got smashed at a local jedi bar, and the rest is history.

Annakin went to the dark side after he found his mother dying after abduction/torture by Sand People. He went to the Dark Side supposedly because he felt he could use the Force to save other loved ones from dying, but I also hear the Dark Side HR offered better benefits and a generous pension plan....

Yes, Mom died before his trip over to the Dark Side. Her death was a series of events that created his anger that the Emporer fed upon to change him.

Ok this is a serires of simple questions his dad was never revealed when quigon jin asked his mom where the father was she sayed there was no father and that was the end of that.One of the main reasons he went to the dark side was because his mom had died.Yoda said fear of loss can lead to the dark side .He also had a dream before his mother died and when he had another dream of Patame dieing giving birth.So the channcelor told anakin that is he came to the dark side he could show him powers to save the one he loves from death but it went crazy and he ended up turning into darth vader. i guess he had issues being a slave

Some have suggested that Emperor Palpatine is Anakins father. (Just listen to the conversation Palpatine has about creating life using the force in episode III.) And it was his mother's death, in part, that pushed him toward the dark side. He lost his mother after a series of nightmares, and after her death was having nightmares about Padme. It was the search for the power to keep her from dying that sent him to the dark side.
