yes because if you are using the free version or those products you need to combine each other for better protection
the avg free edition only give you anti virus protection
and zone alarm free edition is only firewall

AVG is an anti virus and Zonealarm is a firewall they are two different things. If you need a anti virus I would recommend you get something that will prevent you from getting a virus or clean your computer up if you do. I used AVG and had gotten a virus that it could find but couldn't do anything with, I didn't even know I was infected untile it ran it's weekly scan. I would find something else that really works well. Zonealarm has a very good firewall probably one of the best on the market. You could get Zonealarm Pro it comes with a anti virus as well as a firewall. It also has anti spyware remover and a few more products to help protect your computer.

Yes, i'd recommend getting zonealarm too. The free AVG version is only antivirus. Zonealarm acts as a firewall, and will keep you from getting infected in the first place.

I wouldn't think that you have to use ZoneAlarm (firewall & spyware) in particular. Maybe they are suggesting that it works well with AVG. I have AVG and Ewido spyware and they work well together. I also have separate firewall and additional virus protection. Maybe I'm just a little paranoid but it works for me.

AVG is an anti-virus program.....Zone Alarm is a firewall. They do entirely different things. So, yes, download and install both. By the way, Zone Alarm's firewall acts to protect against both incoming AND outgoing threats...Windows Firewall only protects against incoming.

No it is not necessary. If you already have a firewall( a good one) you neednot go for ZoneAlarm.

If you can download windows defender by microsoft you do not need Zonealarm. They both serve the same purpose.

I use it, and love it. However, Zone Alarm is a very good firewall.
If you need one, and don't want to use Zone Alarm, then try going to oldversion.com and look for sygate personal firewall.

I have AVG and I do not have zonealarm. I have never used it.
