i am a college student and i would like to get a decent, if not well paying job. i hear being a waitress or hostess pays well, but i dont know where to apply. any suggestions? i live in socal, la area if it makes a difference.

Not sure about LA but my niece works in a sport bar. The tips are better there then most places.

Hi, With you living in So. Cal you have your pick of places! One for sure to try is Claim Jumper. Road House Grill would be another great one. That is a steak house. Outback. The list just goes on. Open your phone book and make a list and just go out and start putting out your apps. As a person who worked in the restaurant business for over 20 years...some as a waitress and some as a restaurant owner I would suggest that you become a server. They are the ones that make the money. My niece worked at Outback just on weekends and was pulling down 200.00 a night. Not bad for parttime work. Good luck to you.
