OK......so you are throwing him out 'eh???? Did he beat you? Did he smash up everything in your house? Did he threaten you in any way?.........Because, LEGALLY, if he didn't do any of these things....you can't force him to move out!

Discuss it civilly and push for a 30 day time frame before you get all righteous about it, as some seem to think you should.
If you want to stay friendly and civil, then don't start off by demanding deadlines and getting ugly.
Divorces do not have to be ugly - it all depends on the people and how mature they are.

12 years is a long time and until the divorce is final then his tuff has every right to be there and actually i think he can force you to move out till its settled as the house is common property and needs to be sold anyway. but being civil give him a week to get his stuff thats fair to me at least.

Well at least give him enough time to find a place
to stay.
Since your both still friends and I know it will seem
too long for you but give him at least 1 1/2 months
to find an apartment.
Good luck

Don't wait to long bc he may be trying to use you to stay. Men in marriage situations don't want to separate or divorce because theres money involved. Especially if you were a housewife. That means that he has to take care of you and any children that was conceived in the marriage.

What kind of a marriage is it, or was it when a woman wears the pants decides "how long should she give him to get out"? I think that your attitude needs a bit of adjustment, with all due respect, and your husband has failed you in this regard.

A month and make sure you put it in writing. Otherwise if he decides to turn crappy he has the same right to stay as you do. I was in this same situation.
