It is very rare! It used to be more common during out moms and gradmothers times. I believe its less than 1 out of 100 may become pregnant. And a previous poster said that it prevents the growth of a pregnancies scientist are actual unsure as to how the IUD really wrks. They do have an ideas and that is one of the ideas but no one knows for sure

Yes, but it is VERY rare for this to happen. Occasionally, an IUD will be expelled without the women noticing it and then she can become pregnant. This is also rare and usually happens shortly after insertion. You should regularly check to ensure that you can feel the strings of the IUD, that way you will know it is still there.

Actually, the way and IUD works is that it ends a pregnancy if it happens because it blocks the growth of the fetus. So yes, you can get pregnant but the IUD blocks growth so you don't stay pregnant. Most people don't realize that about IUD's but I worked at an OB/GYN for a long time.

Yes, my sister did. It does happen, although it's rare. You can carry a baby with an IUD in also, but you run the risk of miscarriage or damage to the fetus...
It could also cause a miscarriage if they try to remove it...
