What is it about sharing things with your sister that is different from sharing it with your friends?. Maybe there is some sibling rivalry going on there. You say she has tons of expensive stuff. Are you jealous of that and seeking to even the score in some way by denying her access to your stuff? It doesn't sound like you're being selfish to me. But her sharing with you and you not reciprocating may hint toward some issue in your relationship.

Most of the time sisters grow up feeling competitive towards each other. Normal & natural. You don't mind at all sharing with your friends b/c you want them to think your nice & generous & you want them to share with you too i'm sure.
You've shared your whole life with your sister & it doesn't matter if she thinks your nice & generous b/c she'll ALWAYS be your sister...she's not going anywhere!!! So you don't see her as someone you have to impress.
But don't forget!!! Your sister will be there for you forever! Unlike so-called friends that come and go. As will you for her. To have a sister is fortunate b/c that's someone you will always have in your life that you can count on.
Just try easing up on sis & maybe she'll ease up on wanting your things...she's probably acting like she wants your stuff b/c your telling her no & she sees it bothers you so she keeps doing it to bug you.
If you show her it doesn't bother you, she'll more than likely back off.
Love you sister!!! She'll love you back!!!

You don't mind to share with your friends then have you ever stopped and asked why you mind to share with your sister? I think this is normal of two sisters. Me and my sister was like this. Now it would be nice to even see her. I am older now. As you grow older, you will see things in a whole new way. So in the meantime, try to share with your sister as, you would your friends. Because in the long run your sister will or could be your best friend. Good luck and God Bless!

It is the thought of 'refusing' to share that is causing the confusion. Only situation can decide what to share and what not !
Suppose, people are occupying various types of accommodation in a huge ship like the titanic, each enjoys according to what he pays for..... but when the ship is about to sink, and survival is now the priority, the strong would help the weak, and maximum persons would occupy even a small life boat, unlike the spacious paid accommodation of the big ship.

I dont mind sharing if I get my stuff back in good condition. My Mother made sure we shared some things but learned to respect the privacy of other's possessions.
Are you the older or younger sister? I bet older and your younger sister wants to be like you so take it as a compliment she wants to borrow things

some people like to try out different things that others have used to see what they might be missing. Are you a capricorn ,tauras or virgo sun sign ? they are usually the selfish signs of the zodiac. no pun just curious. and why would u share with friends and not your blood relative? Is there just a little bit of jealousy there?I know there is with my sister. she would give away stuff or loan money to any one but me but she was always jealous of me.

well she doesnt mind sharing with you....hmm why is that? perhaps because she is generous. i think you are being selfish, since you have no problem sharing with non-related people. but keep up the good work and when this generous sister grows up and prospers, hopefully she'll remember how you treated her. remember what goes around comes around. so hang on to your junk, and she'll hang on to her check book when you two are old and you're in need of a "loan".

If she is using your stuff then you should borrow hers. I think it is somewhat selfish if you cannot share with your own sister. What if you were to need something from her? I would share.

I think this is a lot more than just not wanting to share stuff, this is about your sister in particular. you need to work out your feelings towards her first and then think about lending things to her. there is obviously some tension between you two, which is quite understandable with siblings
