I do sometimes refrain from giving a comment because I realize I don't have anything to add so why babble nonsense? What purpose does it serve? For example a Biologist is speaking. Why would I interject if I can't add anything of value to the conversation? I don't know much about Biology so in this case it would be better to listen and learn and keep my mouth shut. :-)

I suppose I wouldn't step up to an astro-physicist and shoot my kisser off about the cosmos, but as a general rule I don't worry too much about looking stupid.

I can usually talk to anyone, but yes, there are occasions, especially dealing with very powerful people that I am completely tongue tied and cannot think of a single intelligent thing to say!

I have a sibling that I can not talk politics too. To do so is not pretty. It is her way, and hers alone. there is no debate, so no matter what I say, I am wrong.Even my opinion is wrong. (go figure) So I just don't go there anymore.
