I invite my neighbors for dinner every 9/11 for a remembrance. We light candles and say prayers for everyone that lost their lives and their families.

you are right, sort of. i could see 9-11 becoming a national recognized holiday. i just don't think you should stack it up to a shopping paid day off. but on the other hand december 14th (i think that's right unless memory fails me) isn't a holiday and that was when pearl harbor was bombed. as well as the day the oklahoma city bombing happened....no holiday there either!

...because! It's a day of mourning, idiot! THOUSANDS of lives were lost that day and that's what started the war!!! It ain't a day we're gonna celebrate!!! When the terriosts attacked the twin towers, that changed the every life of people and history forever.

Perhaps in a few years it could be, but I think it's best to just go on with life. One of the ideals of terrorism is the diruption of life. If we go on, then we win at least that one insignificant part.

Pearl Harbor and D-Day didn't rate...guess 9/11 doesn't either.

Why would we celebrate a day we were attacked and killed, that is like asking why isnt there a Pearl Harbor day.

Because its not holiday. It's a day of observance for all the lives that were lost that day.

if 9/11 had its own day then there would have to be a pearl harbor day, or a D-day, or a VE day and so on and so on

well than we would need to make pearl harbor a holiday too. its for the same reason that pearl harbor isn't a holiday.
