ok, thanks to you guys i found out what i needed to do to make my wireless computer wireless, but i ran into a road block. how do i go about finding out what my ip address is.help me please

Click "Start" then "Control Panel" then "Network Connection"

the window opened should have all "LAN or High-Speed Internet" connections opened. Select whichever you connected to the internet ("Local-Area-Connection" if you connect through LAN card) and the left side window under "detail" will give you the IP address you were assigned.

Go to www.myipaddress.com and you IP address will be shown on the web page. (Don't worry it is a secure website)

click on start/all programs /accessories
then click on the command prompt
i con
then type in the box
ipconfig
then hit enter

Go to start, click run, Type CMD, when black window comes up type ipconfig.

go to your wireless router home page and select attached devices and it should be in there

Go to start -> run -> type 'cmd'

then type ipconfig


if you can connect to the internet, go to www.whatismyip.com
