Are your phones GSM phones? And if so, are they unlocked or locked to a particular provider? If your phone uses CDMA technology, like most phones in the US, you can't exchange the SIM cards. However, GSM technology phones (which are more common everywhere else in the world) can use interchangeable SIM cards IF they are unlocked.
If you buy a free standing GSM phone without a wireless provider, it is probably unlocked, but if you buy a GSM phone through a wireless provider, it probably is locked. If you have a provider, ask the customer service department. If you bought a free standing phone, ask the merchant you purchased it from.
If your GSM phone is locked, you can probably find a technician in the area which will either unlock the phone for you or provide the unlock codes so you can do it yourself. Expect this fee to cost you some money, however.

The i530 is uses a 32k FAlcon sim
while the the i870 needs the 128k Falcon Sim, for faster and more modern features. Texting and internet with the proper sim will work.
