I went off of the birth control pill about 2 weeks ago. I did have a period. But this week, I have been having cramps and pains in my lower abdomen. Did anyone else go through this after going off the pill? (by the way, yes my fiance and I are trying to conceive)

i went off the pill ( i was on for 6 years) almost 2 years go...i got my period within a week and yes i had very bad cramps. the cramps lasted longer than the period. my hubbie and i were trying to conceive after 1 year and 1/2 without luck we decided to get checked out everything was fine with both of us. My doctor told me that after being on the pill it takes sometime for your body to get back into the habit and regualr cycle he recommends it usually takes 3 months for every year you are on the pill for this to happen. I got pregnant in july after 1 1/2 of trying. Good luck !

Yes, I had cramps for about a month after I got off the pill and I just got my period like three days ago.

If you went off the pill two weeks ago, you are most likely ovulating. It feels strane and a lot like cramps because you haven't been ovulating since you were on the pill. Pay attention to what it feels like, especially if you are trying to get pregnant. Most women are most fertile days 10-16. You'll probably cramp the most 24 before ovuation until the egg drops. Good luck getting pregnant!

When I went off my pills, my doctor mentioned that it was not a "real" period as you do not have those when you are on BC. I would assume this means a real period could come at any time after the "fake" one....
I didn't inquire further...but thought I would share!
Oh and FYI - you can and it is perfectly safe to get PG rght after stopping the pill. Your body does not require months for every year! I went off the pill (after about 8 years) and was PG 2 months later...

Its normal cramps. When your on the pill cramps hurt less.

Well your body is going through having to make its own horomones again so its normal to feel... not normal. Lol. Should get better after a couple months

Your ovulating...didn't do that on the pill.....no your off and it is going to happen...QUICK jump on your man..this is the perfect time to get pregnant!!!!!!!!!
