like you know the 1/2 inch hole that most people pierce on their ear? well is the surgery to close it painful? does your ear look the same way as it did before? does it do anything to your ear internally? after surgery how long does the pain last and what do you have to do? can you pierce it again to a normal earring size? if you answer this I will really appreciate it.

Surgery won't hurt, you'll be numb there. You're never the same after surgery, there is always a scar, I mean. The pain should last as long as those annoying stitches do. You probably won't be able to repierce in the same spot because of scar tissue that will take over. The hole could be inconspicuously moved a little.

They would prick your ear with a numbing agent and do their thing. You'd feel the prick but nothing else. Until it wears off. Aspirin or Ibuprofen should take care of that. Take the pain reliever 1 hour BEFORE the procedure.
Good luck!

You should ask the Doctor these questions. If he doesn't know the answer then I would find another Doctor If I was you.
