We have 300 orange trees that have just finished fruiting, they are now starting to flower. Do we prune them now? and if so, how much do they need to be cut back?

Citrus trees generally don't require that much pruning.

Here are some recommendations to follow;

1. It's recommended that you prune citrus almost any time from March to August, but just prior to blooming is best

2. Remove dead, diseased or criss-crossing limbs to open up the center of the tree

3. Cut back branches that are getting too large or are in the way

4. Paint any branches newly exposed to sun with diluted white latex paint - half water, half paint. This step will prevent sunburn to sensitive bark

Hope this information was of some help to you. GOOD LUCK!
