I starting bleeding after giving birth. The hospital gives you the really thick maxi pads to keep you from staining everything. The bleeding for me lasted about a week or two but it will seem like you are still bleeding you will be actually starting a period especially if you do not breastfeed.

Yes. I bled for a little over week....9 days I think total with my first and 12 days with my second. every one if different.
As for when it starts, it is usually fairly soon after you give birth, since it is mostly the afterbirth still coming out. Just make sure to watch for large clots (or chunks) it could mean a problem and if you see any that are larger than the size of a dime you should let the dr or nurse know immediately (if you are still in the hospital) and if you are at home, call your OB right away. there could be something wrong, and clots are never good.

It starts when the baby comes out. And you bleed really bad, worse than a period. You pass clumps of tissue sometimes the size of golf balls or bigger for the first couple days (sometimes more, sometimes less). Most people bleed for somewhere in the range of 2-6 weeks, with the bleeding tapering off toward the end like a period would.

You start bleeding immediately after birth and it can be very heavy or very light and it can last any amount of time. Everyone is different.
When I had my baby, the first 2 days were very heavy bleeding, but then it lightened up and now it's completely gone. I gave birth 11 days ago.
Just know that right after delivery, the nurses will be pushing on your stomach to get your uterus to contract and that gets a lot of the blood out, but afterward you can bleed like a very heavy period.

You'll be bleeding in the hospital. The nurses should show you how to clean yourself. I bled for about 3 weeks, stopped for a few days and then had what seemed like a period for another week. I had a vaginal delivery so I had less bleeding than a c-section mom would have. The bleeding was heavier than a period for me.

I bled like a mod. period for a week then stopped for about 4 days and I was doing more than I should have and it made me start bleeding again for about a week and it took about 7-8 weeks for my uterus to go back down to it's normal size. But I didnt breastfeed and I didnt take time to rest any after the baby was born.

I wish I only bled for twelve days, but I bled for over four weeks! Keep in mind that I am a "bleeder", but I thought it would never end. For me, the bleeding started right after delivery, and it was quite heavy for the first week or two. It lets up, but I had another two weeks or so of lighter bleeding. That is probably the worse part of the recovery process!!

It starts right away. For my first it lasted 12 weeks, my second it lasted 6 weeks. Everyone is different. Mine was much heavier than a normal period. But like I said everyone is different. It also gets heavier if you do to much to soon. If you start working out too soon, or doing too many chores around the house.

Yes you do bleed from the moment of birth and up to 6 weeks possibly longer it all depends on your body on how bad it will be and how long it will last . If you breast feed you will bleed longer because breast feeding makes your uterus contract .
