Shouldn't it only matter we're all Americans? Politicians try to make it seem as if Americans are either far left or far right. I believe the American people are far more intelligent and varied than that. Why should labels matter so much anyway? And when will Republicans and Democrats stop fighting and get major advancements in American society done? Health care reform anyone?
And please, no Democrat or Republican puns. Let's at least try be civil and mature.

I never said "under one party". I just said we need more cooperation and less bickering. Two parties are great up until a point when they appear useless.

Both are the same in practice, but make nominal appeals to constituents to give them a false feeling of belonging and participation to get support.
You're right, we are all Americans and should behave as such. Instead the political hatred has been at an extreme rhetorical level since 1992. Haters of both Clinton and Bush are from the same low intellectual ilk, and they they are ripping this country at its core.

Moderate Republicans and Democrats are pretty much on the same side with some minor differences on what path to get where we are going.
The extremists on either side are the ones making the most noise. And unfortunately, we either here the views of crazy liberals in San Franciso or whacked out religio-cons from "red dirt road" America. If we could find a way to shut those people up for like a decade, we might make some real progress in this country...or not...

We'd better hope that there's a difference...that Dems and 'Publicans are extremely different. Case in point: the recent debate over securing our borders. Basically, they did what they wanted to, regardless of what the American people thought, because they were after a common goal (future voters) and couldn't give a rip how it affected us.
If they get on the same page, and that page is divergent to the will of the American people, then America as we know it is over. Debate and disagreement is healthy. The more the better.

It gives society someone to blame, why nothing gets completed. Parties do not represent values but only give an excuse why you should not vote for the other side.

Yes, and there is a huge difference. Democrats brought you Social Security. Ask your folks if that is important.

good for you, but truly, you give Americans far more credit then they deserve. many of them are cruel, dim witted assholes that don't give a crap for our country. republicans and democrats fight because they want to get voted to office... it is a forever going battle for control.. so nothing really happens, or will happen.
