Stay away from cruising the Park scene-too many cop decoys, you cant tell who is looking to hook up with you or book you. In Oakland you might want to try Bench and Bar-If you are into Latinos

(Scott62921, You are naughty. I like you!) IN THE CASTRO: Market and Castro. The Twin Peaks (aka "The Glass Coffin" because it is an older club. The 440. Great when Uncle Harry (Harry Lit) is in town and hosts "Sunday Furry Sunday" good for cruising as are all of these (on Castro or 18th) The Edge, Frog Hollow, The Mix, and a few others I can't remember because of the wine I'm drinking. Enjoy any of them. SOMA: The Leather/bear leader is the Eagle and the new owners, Mike and Eduardo have turned it into something spectacular. The Lone Star: the traditional bear. leather bar is now all about Rugby. (?). Along Folsom there are a few smaller bars that cater to bears and leather. Where ever you go, smile and talk. Don't wait for "Gaydar" to make it happen.

There wouldnt be enough time to get into San Francisco and back again allowing for check in time to go anywhere at all. You can take a van or bus ride in to the city to see the scenery, then come right back to the airport. Thats all you could do. It depends a great deal on time of day. The airport is not in San Francisco but about 30-45 minutes south of there so there is nothing to look at except Candlestick Park.

Hit the clubs, bars, coffee houses, walk around the Castro. It's not hard to figure out.

If you are into rough trade, the Stud near Folsom might fit you better
