sosa hit 60 plus homeruns three times when it took34 years to do it after ruth and another 34 to do it after maris...... mcguire 70 hrs broken again by bonds at 73 just three years later.. bonds never hit a hr longer than 450 ft till he was 35.. after 35 he has hit 31 450 ft or longer at an age when players power numbers go way down his went way up way way up. stratosphere way way up. bonds also has a few seasons of an 800 slugging percentage which is ruthian.. he broke all the babes slugging records. the top three all time hr leaders in history averaged 19 hrs at the age of thirty nine.. bonds hit 73.. i think at forty he hit 45 hrs 100 rbis and hit 373 with 200 walks another record and something like 100 of them intentional.. he went from a great player to the greatest hitter of all time ... did have three mvps before he suddenly got huge..

ERIC GAGNE - 63 consecutive saves.
107 saves in two seasons? The mule appeared in 214 games in three years... that is unheard of!
Three years as a failed and mediocre starter. The guy is on the verge of never making the major league club again. Suddenly, he is muscled up and throwing pure heat. The guy had averaged less than a strikeout an inning, he came back in 2002 and BAM averaged almost 2 per inning.
The biggest advantage that steroids give to a player is the ability for muscles to recover quickly, that's why on 'roids one can work out more often and get more muscular as a result.
Who needs to recover more often than a relief pitcher? NOBODY
What position has been caught using steroids more than any other position? PITCHERS.
Still not sure there is enough to be suspicious? Ok, where has he been since 2004? Breaking down. Many of the injuries he has suffered, experts would tell you are indicative of steroid use.

why do people want to diminish records by Bonds, McGwire, and Sosa? Cheating has been part of baseball forever, whether its amphetimines, cocaine, or corked bats, spitballs, nail files, or stealing signs. The white sox even "threw" a world series, Pete Rose bet on (and fixed games) in baseball, but I still love the game and Big Mac deserves some credit for bringing back fans in the 1998 season. He deserves to be elected into the hall of fame class of 2007 on the first ballot.

you see its hard to say any generation of players have any advantage because in the 1800's-about 1910 players openly used cocaine (it was legal) then you have the fact that until the late 1950's baseball excluded all non-whites then in the 50's until the current steroids revelations the players were using speed so it all evens out over time
