They sell a none toxic granule called critter ritter keeps away cats, dogs raccoons, skunks, bought mine at the local feed store 15 bucks, it works by a agent that doesn't bother them physically, but they will stay away from!

A very good way to keep those dogs off your trash is to pour clorax of other bleach on it. They will stay away.

Try sprinkling the cans inside with regular household ammonia. That should do the trick.

Place moth balls around the cans. Buy the cheapest moth balls you can find. Even tie them in a mesh bag and hang them from the cans.

Black Pepper!!!! Animals hate it!!!! safer and less cruel than gasoline....sprinkle it everywhere, they will get the message...note: if it rains, it's gone, you'll have to reapply.....

spray the outside and inside of the can with household Ammonia hurts their nose when they sniff the can.
