I had an old Acura Legend and tried to boost the mileage/power with gasoline additives. Usually, you just empty a bottle of such treatment into your gas tank when full. Thus, you get a fairly diluted mixture of gasoline and additive that is supposed to clean out gunk from your fuel injectors, etc, and boost power / mileage.

Problem is that adding anything non-gasoline to your fuel tank can void your warranty (as to how your auto manufacturer will ever find out is another story). Also, the additive may not necessarily be quality and can eventually erode your gaskets and seals. It is a long shot, but I asked my mechanic about such gas treatments, and he told me it is basically a waste of money.

Another mechanic concurred. So I stopped wasting my money on useless products.

Best way to boost your mileage is to drive 55 MPH on cruise control. Yeah, it is boring, I know. But I drove my (new) Nissan Maxima (gets 27-29 MPG on average) from California to Indiana and was getting closer to 38-40 MPG using the above method. Try it, it really works.

There is NO treatment that will make your gas last longer. There is a treatment will clean your injectors. You pour it in the tank. Go to the parts store and ask them.

its just a additive your can pour into your gas tank, there's a few different types and basically just called gas treatment with.... some will add octane, others will clean fuel lines, injector's,stuff like that,,any auto store ,should carry it,it may help a little with better milage but not a great deal.

It helps keep your gas from going bad or another helps cleans your engine by increasing the octane content. Either one is just added to the tank. I wouldn't expect a lot of savings due to better gas mileage.

if you got a newer car, then you want fuel injector cleaner instead of gas treatment.you can get stp, gumout,or they got other kind if you want something different.it will keep your injectors cleaned and also keep moister out of your tank.all you do is pour it in your tank and then fill up with gas.you can get it at auto zone stores.
