I love books, and find sci-fi the best for me.
Midnight at the Well of Souls by Jack L. Chalker (actually the whole series is wonderful. Good for thinking outside the box.)
All my Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms. Ummm...
All the books my son has read, then we talk about them:)
Anne McCaffrey - Pern.
J.R.R. Tolkien - of course.
Oh for a great laugh and thought - Piers Anthony's Xanth series! puns and romance.
BOOKS ARE SO IMPORTANT!
I have sent my son Chemistry and Physics books - hoping for an interest, college level or not I send them.

I don't know your book, but in my case I admire Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird and I try to live my life on the principles he showed us in the book: courage, compassion, doing the right thing even under frightening circumstances, and loving my children and respecting them as real people.

"What to expect when you are expecting". As a new dad (9 years ago) it really helped me understand pregnancy and what was to come in the weeks and months ahead.
