You shouldn't have to push to pee. You do need to relax the sphincter & that requires some pushing/releasing. I would go to your doc for a check-up to get a better diagnoses.

Absolutely not. It is perfectly ok from a pathophysiological point of view. If you have to push in order to pee, and I mean literally push hard, you will need to seek the attention of a physician for a more accurate diagnosis.
