I am moving to NYC and don't know what are the good districts.

If you can afford it, The upper East Side or the Upper West Side, just a short ride on the train to get to Midtown. Around 96 Street on the East side or Columbia University on the West Side. Anywhere that you live always be aware of what is around you.

this is nyc, crime is waaaaay down. most of nyc is safe. just pick a neighborhood that you like, and find a place to live.
besides, i don't like answering these questions, and "red lining" what is good/bad nabes.

tribeca is nice. just be aware of your environment to stay safe in nyc.
