Do you mean "Hang on Sloopy"?

If so, The Vibrations sang this song (as "My Girl Sloopy") which became hit no. 26 in 1964. The McCoys sang, became hit no.1 in 1965. Also Ramsey Lewis sang this same song, became hit no.11 in the same year. Little Ceasar and the Consuls sang and became hit no. 50 also in the same year.

But the most popular version usually played on radio belongs to The McCoys.

Hope this ll help

It's Hang on Sloopy

"Hang on Sloopy" is a hit song by the pop group The McCoys which was #1 in America in October 1965 and is the official rock song of the state of Ohio, USA.

It was written by Wes Farrell and Bert Russell and is named for Dorothy Sloop, a singer born in Steubenville, Ohio on September 26, 1913 who used the name "Sloopy" on stage. She died July 1998 in Pass Christian, Mississippi.

They couldnt sing "hang on Snoopy" because of copyright infringement with Charles Schultz, creator of Peanuts.

So they changed it to "SLOOPY" and moved the words around a bit.

Very commonly misquoted. It's "Hang on Sloopy", not Snoopy, and it's easily searchable.
