I have an 87' trans am and yesterday I left the lights on accidently until car ended up dying. I jumped the car today and it's running, however now its shaking a lot. Before the car battery died the car ran perfectly. When i come to a complete stop or the car is just idling in park it shakes unusually hard. Also when i am driving and give the car some gas it doesn't feel right. I asked a mechanic friend of mine he suggested that it might be the computer reprogramming itself since the battery was dead and in 24 hours or so it will probably stop by iteself and run normally. Anyone ever have a problem like this?

On older cars the computer would lose the program if the battery went completely dead. Drive the car gently for a while, and it should re-learn the settings shortly!

did your check engine light in the dash come on?if so disconnect the negative battery cable for at least 15 seconds and it will clear the computer and give it a fresh start
