There could be numerous issues with this. One, you could have an infection. If you are breast feeding you might want to get checked. Also, if you've had sexual intercourse you might be pregnant. Breasts tend to get really sensitive and swollen. It could also just possibly be a symptom of PMS. It varies with everyone. If it's extremely painful I would see a doctor!!

well I know its a bit personal, but it would be easier if I knew what was causing the inflamation but sinse i dont know i'll give you a couple of different remedys,1 to make an infusion for swollen breasts due to nursing children:buy bark from an ash tree in powder form(make sure that its a fraxinus americana tree because ther are more than one species of ash tree)and add it to hot water(not hot enough to burn your self)enough to make it a little thick so it dose not run, apply to aflicted area and cover with a towel to retain the heat as long as possible, can be used as needed. 2 for glandular swelling, mastitis and breast cancer,in 1-1/2 pints of boiling water put 3/4 cup choped green pokeroot or pokeweed(phytolacca americana),cover and let simmer on low heat for 15 mins, set aside and steep for 25 mins, then strain and refrigerate, small amounts(one half cup)can be taken with meals several times a day.and a clean washcloth can be soaked in some hot tea(do not reheat in a microwave)the exsess wrung out;it is folded several times and then applied directly to the swelling it self.a dry hand towel should be placed over this in order to retain the heat as long as possible...also good for swollen lymph nodes, tonsillitis and other glandular swelling.any help with health related situations just e-mail me at...rootsofmt.zion@yahoo.com...good luck.

You say breast. Only one?
You could be suffering from water retention which will go with you monthly cycle. Hormone therapy may help this. Other wise seek medical help immediately

Are you breastfeeding. If not it;s may be PMS, it could be an infection or maybe you are pregnant. Go see a doctor to check it out.

Are you breastfeeding?? IMHO, you should go to the doctor just to have it checked out. Cold compresses/ice packs should help in the mean time, but seriously, go get it checked out.

I feel someone (husband or b/f) played with it very roughly. Check that first. Breastfeeding also can cause this. The reply to this is with you.
