I know that words like racist means that a person is prejudice to a certain race...

But is there a word that means someone is prejudice to a certain religion? I've been dying to know!!!

thanks

bigot – noun a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion.

sectarianism - n : a narrow-minded adherence to a particular sect or party or denomination; "he condemned religious sectarianism"

Prejudiced for or prejudiced against? Prejudiced itself is a loaded word! It has some more "neutral" meanings indicating bias, favor, or predisposition as well as the stronger sense of "irrational hostility".

I would use "bigot" (to be prejudiced against or intolerant of those not of one's own group, and that includes religion, faith, as well as race or ethnicity). Perhaps "zealot" works (to be extremely prejudiced against those not of one's own religion, faith or belief) ... tho a zealot can also be said to be extremely prejudiced FOR one faith and those in agreement would view that as a positive. Prejudiced in favor of a religion or belief system but without a lot of the negative connotations hanging around zealot is "votary" which is like "disciple".

Interesting question.

I think it would be something with "phobe" or "phobic".
Maybe Islamaphobic or Christophobe. As the spelling checker pointed out, these are not real words.
