I like cats because they are curious. And wonder (according to Aristotle) is the beginning of philosophy.

Dogs. They are naturally social, attentive, and endlessly responsive to praise. This makes it easier to train them, if you know anything. Because wild dogs and wolves have evolved into a social niche, they are very expressive and it is very easy to see how they are feeling. Dogs can run with you. If you are into dating, you can meet people while you walk a dog at the park. Dogs can be deterrents, burglar alarms, sheep-herders, or retrievers. They can be phenomenally smart: for example, a border collie in Germany, Rico, knows several thousand toys by name, and if you put a new toy into the other room and tell him to go get the , he brings back the new toy and learns that name for it. Try that with a cat. There have been dogs who met kids at the bus stop or worked doorknobs. Not all dogs, but it's possible. I think dogs bond more closely - cats have a tendency to wander off and cat lovers I've known are always taking strange cats in. Where do they come from? I have found neighborhood cats to spend a lot of time out killing baby birds and rabbits, and leave **** all over the place. I do not entirely approve of this, though it is partly because cat lovers think it is OK to let their cats run around everywhere, although in most places it is as illegal as doing that with dogs.
Besides, I'm allergic to cats.

Cats. They can learn to use the toilet! They are cuddly. They ARE intelligent, too. Cats are clean and don't smell when they're wet, and they're not smelling people's crotch all the time. Also, what I prefer is their aloofness, like intelligent women!
Dogs have masters; cats have servants... goes to show they're more intelligent.
Dogs AND cats both shed, mostly due to lack of vitamins. Cats do not require to be taken out for a walk.
Some dogs can scare intruders but some dogs just stand around and watch the intruders steal your things! Cats are pets, not guardians.

Cats. They are more "human".
Cats have better habits than dogs. They use the litter and doesn't required regular bathing as dogs.
My cat can stay alone in my house for a long weekend and doesn't destroy my house.
I really hate the dog's barks and the tongue out of the mouth.

I like cats better. They are so cute and cuddly. A cat cleans itself and even covers it's waste; so it is much cleaner than a dog. A dog can hurt you when they jump on you but a cat doesn't.

Cats because they are smarter. I have had cats in my family for 29yrs. I have had dogs off and on for all my life and cats rule; dogs DO drool. Cats are just as loyal as dogs.

Dogs, because they have a more 'open' personality. I like the sheer size of a dog by my side when I go for a walk.
I did have a cat for 20 years, though, that I was very very close to.

Cats because they don't smell bad if they get wet or if it's a hot day....actually cats don't smell full stop. You can ALWAYS tell when you walk into a dog owner's house because their houses smell terrible.
