I have to say a 3 min speech in front of the class about myself. So far I got my name, where I graduated, sports, music, hobby, my major. What else should I talk about? It HAS to be atleast 3minutes

Okay... you are an expert on yourself so dont worry... this is a doable assgnment.

First you want to divide your speech into three parts - an introduction, the body, and a conclusion. If you are in an ORAL COMM class an explanation on how to develop each of these parts will be in your book. Kepp in mind that the introduction and conclusion should be short b/c the speech itself is short.

Your intro should catch the audiences attention and give them a "preview" of what you will be talking about in the body of your speech. Example: "Hello everyone my name is wu559 and today I hope to keep you entertained for the next few minutes by telling you a little bit about myself, where I've been, where I am now and where I'm going." <-- as a listener this statement gives me direction without telling me alot .

Once you get into the body of your speech you can devide your speech into the three parts you mentioned in the intro (where I've been, where I am now and where I'm going). You'll have to fill in the personal info b/c I dont know you. =)

Then the conclusion should be something catchy like: Thank you all for listening and I hope that this speech has given you a little insight into the world of wu559 and if you know any ladies (or gentelmen) looking for a date... please hook a brother (sister) up.

Ha, ha.

Just have fun with this... and dont be nervous... like I said before no one in there knows you better that YOU!

Wow, 3 minutes is a lot. Do you have any family members that you can talk about? Or pets? Find a joke that goes along with something you said. Talk about why you chose your major.
I hope these help. I'm dreading the time when I have to take this class. If all else fails, talk real slow!!

Well, you could do it slowly with the things you already have. But if you still want to talk more, talk about what you thought when you got into the institution you are studying right now, and compare it to what you want to accomplish showing a map where your boat wants to sail.
And thus you will have a speech more longer than you thought.

ok i know how daunting it would want to be conversing to an target audience so it is my suggestion: a million. enable the speech be about something you may relate to "How no longer to make a foul speech." How's tt gonna artwork? imagine you're saying "No. a million: take care of eyecontact with the target audience ... No. 2. ... Erm enable me take my notecards out for a minute i'll't look to shop in ideas what's next ... ah No. 2 - memorize your speech." you may assume a somepeople to giggle/snigger and that is precisely the type of reaction you want! the trick to giving a properly-received speech (esp if it truly is educational) is to be wonderful and more desirable importantly no longer sound so preachy because no one likes being lectured to. so basically take all the apprehension and anxiousness that you experience today and turn it INTO that speech. it is also attainable to assert "No. 5 shop your cool. (then take out your hanky and initiate wiping your forehead)" speeches like this you dont even might want to be humorous - because basically with the help of attempting - you've already received the target audience over. the biggest ingredient being: even once you fumble make sure you're making it appear like it truly is area of the act. *wink* Gd success!
