Here's some of my observations in my 30-year span of being on the Earth:

1. Employers look for people who have basic punctuation, grammar, and speaking skills. "TH" does not make an F sound, nor does it make a D sound. The words are "with" and "the," not "wif" and "da."

2. The business world is a conservative world and requires everyone in it to dress appropriately. Don't go to an interview wearing a hootchie outfit or looking like a thug. Dress in a nice outfit, don't wear assloads of makeup, and if you're a guy, make sure that you pull your pants up. No one will hire someone who cares so little for their appearance that they let their waistband fall to their knees.

3. Stop sniveling. You're poor? You came from a ghetto? You had no father? You got hooked on drugs? You're a single parent? SO WHAT? Quit victimizing yourself and move on. Many other races in many other countries have just as much trouble as African Americans, but they don't seem to piss and moan about it as much.

4. Hip-hop is damaging your culture. Remember the blaxploitation movies of the 1970s? Where you had black men in afros beating the crap of other black men in afros over some money or a girl or a bar? That version of blaxploitation is now politically incorrect, but hip-hop is the new version. With the rap subculture, black people are not encouraged to better themselves, to look inside their souls, to see if what they have is good enough or if they want something else. Rap does not encourage introspection, innovation, and motivation. Rap encourages the here and now, instant gratification, sacrificing the future for the sake of the present. The very ideas that once pulled black culture out of the darkness and into the light now threaten to put that light out forever.

African American children are taught that their ancestors were slaves, but they taught this as a crutch, not as something that can springboard them to greatness. They are taught that the world owes them, not that they can go into the world and make their mark. The great thinkers, like Dr King, are a thing of the past. Black children aren't encouraged to be great thinkers, dreamers, and innovaters. Black boys are not taught that they can be a president or a fireman or a policeman or a judge or a doctor. They are taught that they can be a sports player, a drug dealer, a pimp, or a criminal. Black girls are not taught that they can be a president or a fireman or a policeman or a judge or a doctor. Black girls are taught that they can be an exotic dancer, a model, a protitute, or a trophy. What has put these poisonous ideas in their heads? What has taken their hope for the future and replaced it with the cynicism of a jaded whore? What has robbed America's black youth of their rich culture and boundless future? One small word: RAP.

You want to make a difference? You want the world to notice you for you and not for your stereotype? Then stop hiding behind the stereotype. Stop holding the tarnished image of a beaten slave before you like a diseased shield. Stop victimizing yourself by saying that the white man will never let you succeed. You are in charge of your future, not the white man. If you have obstacles in front of you, overcome them. If you have traps on your path, avoid them. If you have someone blocking your way, then you become bigger, stronger, and better than that bully, and you remove him and his influence from your life. If you have someone telling you that you can't be president or whatever else you want to be, then you make yourself bigger and stronger and smarter and faster so that he cannot hurt you anymore. Stop being a slave to the past and start creating your future.

As for Black Presidents.... give it time, there will be. There are Black men and women in office in the USA now who will most likely one day run for President and win the election. Times have changed and times continue to change for the better. As for White people ALWAYS getting better jobs.... this in no longer true. Segregation is a thing of the past. There is still plenty of prejudice in the world, but that is one thing that I'm afraid will never change because there will always be enough closed minded ignorant people in the world to keep it going. It would be nice to see prejudice come to an end. Maybe some day it will. If it does I hope I'm still alive to see it.

I'm sure the president part is caused by a lingering racism, but the part about white people always getting the best jobs isn't always true. Sometimes it's because the applicant spells people "peolpe" and has no concept of punctuation.

Quit blaming others, blacks have just as much opportunity as white, Hispanic, Asian, etc. do in America. There are a lot of smart intelligent black people who would make great presidents. When only Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton decide to run, then they will lose. Personally, I think Conde Rice would make a fantastic president.

Don't worry! Soon, affirmative action clowns will make it happen. Of course, then we might not have the best person for the job; he'll just be black. And nowadays, thanks to Affirmative Action, blacks are not only getting the better jobs, but they're also still getting preferential treatment for government subsidies such as Welfare and Medicaid. Oh...but Affirmative Action is illegal...they banned it! RIGHT!!

Character matters. Conduct matters. Appearance matters. One's competency with English matters.

No one cares what color you are. But lots of us care when trying to hire someone and the applicant can't (or won't) speak and use correct English.

Get off the blame game and get on with your life. Stop blaming others for whatever you perceive your problems to be. DO something.

Have you noticed that we also have not had a female president, or a hispanic president?

Because they spend too much time complaining about it. If you want to disprove the status quo, you will have to work twice as hard. The same goes for rappers (Eminem).
