because, lakes are not ocean. lake water is an fresh water and ocean is an salt water. they are 2 very different things.

Because they are LAKES not OCEANS. If it didn't have a name, how would you know which lake you were by? The are separate bodies of water. I've been reading your questions, Stop embarrassing yourself!

If there's only one big ocean, then you won't be able to tell the difference of which one is it. For example, if there's only a name and you were telling it to someone, I guess that person won't be able to know which part of it you are referring to.
