NO! just an opinion, however, let's downscale the sich. if your family decided one day to say, "let's toss out verbal rules in our house, 'anything goes' from now on." So, one person says mom stinks; dad is a lazy butt on the couch, why doesn't he get up and do more; sis' personal stuff in the bathroom makes u vomit if u see it; and U R told that if you weren't so boring and stupid, maybe more girls would p/u when u called....see the hurtful scenario? we need to have rules to behave correctly. thank god, at least we keep trying. i am very afraid i will witness the day, when anything goes. where would it all end? who would want to listen to a presidential candidate who said i hate ******* and spics? there are drawbacks of course, but they are small in comparison to the amount of value that being correct brings. (funny, i previewed this and the n word was replaced w/### but spics is evidently politically correct enought to use...go figure.)

At least in part, because the idea is often invoked so as to silence discussion (in the spirit of not offending people), but the lack of debate, criticism, and civic engagement that is created by political correctness becomes a much greater problem.

This phenomenon is a blight designed to homogenize politics in the Western culture. Go to any other non-western type country and find out how much PC there is.

I am the Fringe and PC is BS!

No, Political correctness is the same as good manners to me. You wouldn't fart and pick your nose in front of people, would you? The reason is because you don't want to offend people. Same as PC, there's no need to willingly offend anyone if you could avoid it.
You can get your point accross without being rude about it.

Political correctness is the "McCarthyism" of our time. Its a kind of a way to enforce (or at least attempt to) conformity. Think for yourself even if it goes against what others think. Differences of opinion are necessary to advance knowledge.
