Peyton Manning the Maestro, what does he do in the line of scrimmage with all that dancing and acting. I hope he kicks Eli's behind today. BTW, who is Peyton dating (and Eli too)

Payton Manning has an unbelievable understanding of the game of football. His ability to read the defense is second to none. So when he goes in the huddle what Manning does is receives an order form Dungy saying run or pass and he makes the play. As he goes to the line he reads the coverage and changes the play so that his offense has the advantage/

Peyton is married. At the line of scrimmage most of what he does is intended to LOOK like a change in the play call, but some of it is actually adjustments to passing routes, blocking assignments or the play itself.

Alot of it is just for show...I'm fairly certain he admitted that himself, though it is, quite often, an audible. Perhaps a change in an assignment hear, another there...a route change, etc. Again, he audibles alot, but the rest is just to keep the defense wondering...

It's an attempt to distract the defense. Look for the NFL competition committee to clamp down on some of it next season.
