I live in the northern part of NY with my boyfriend. I'm orginially from IL . I'm wanting to get checked due to a yeast infection that I cannot get rid of. I've gone to planned parenthood twice and to two clinics. The first clinic checked me for kidney/bladder infection and said I didn't have any, then talked about birth control, and gave me some meds which made the yeast worse and I looked up the stuff and it ended up being antibiotics for a bladder infection so I stopped taking it. The PP said I could have diabetes or HIV but said they highly doubted it was HIV and also said it could be from my diet. I cut the sugar intake down way over half. Diabetes runs in both sides of my family real bad. Neither of my parents have it. I don't have insurance at the moment. I'm going to try to get an appt set up with a gyno but heard they are very hard to get into around here so I thought I would get tested for diabetes while I wait just to be sure.

Where do you live? You don't need to go to hospital. A visit to your doctor, and a blood test should do it. What are your symptoms, check out diabetes sites there are many for symptoms, discuss the ones you have with your doctor and request a blood test. LOL
