I've been having this friend for almost 10 years. Last week he asked me out. We went out for not even a day, we decided it felt too strange to date each other. We broke up with each other and now we are acting as if nothing has happened. I used his football jersey at our first football game. When my friends found out about this, his jersey and dating situation, they responded with, "I thought he hated you." More than onr friend said that. I felt very sad after that, and have had no heart to call him, and tell him about this. My friends act like they know him so well. So it made me feel sad, as if they knew everything about him. What if he does hate me. I'm very mad, and broken hearted. Only because I thought he and I were bestfriends. Someone please help me with this.

Don't listen to these people. They may be jealous. You should never have told them about the date. It's none of their business. Wait and hear what your friend has to say about it. The only opinions that count are yours and his.

Your friends are not your true friends, they are jealous of you.
If u and this guy were meant to be, a good force will pull u two
together.
U can still be bestfriends with this guy, call em up.
You know him better than your other friends.
Its best to follow your instinct and think positive and dont let noone test your emotions and get u sad.

It could be that he did say he didnt like you to keep others from knowing his real feelings or maybe he said that to discourage idol gossip. I know this hurt you, but best thing to do is confront him. You will never get the true answer until you do. The hurt and anger will remain until you just point blank ask him face to face. Good luck.

well you have to confront him..... if he has been your friend for so long you ought to feel comfortable around him and ask the question. Now if he tells you yes then I am very sorry ,but you might want to ask the questions of why and how.Now if he says know well then i won't be surprised. He has known you for ten years and I doubt your friends know everything as you so nicely put it. that is how i would handle it

I think since you've been friends for so long your friendship deserves a chance - so call him and tell him exactly what you're telling us. Tell him how much you care about him, he's your best friend and how sad you are about this gossip (I'm sure that's all it is!!) Don't worry so much - just call him NOW & clear the air!!

Don't take their word for it. They may be jealous of your closeness to him.
You've been friends for 10 years. Talk to him. What's it going to hurt? Would you be more miserable if you found out that he didn't like you?
Call him. Give him a chance to tell you HIS side of the story.

Would you just get on the phone girl and call him up to find out the truth. There alot of haters out there and maybe these girls are that way cause you two are so close and they want you to believe that he doesn't like you because they're hating!. Anyway...GO CALL HIM!!!

Hmm. Talk to him. Ask him if you offended him in some way. Sounds like you had a great friendship, I doubt he would throw that all away based off that night.
