in some ways, they're not. But on a personal level, everyone votes based on their value system. Many people's value system comes from their religion. People want the government to share their values and priorities.

Actually, it is a pretense. The majority of people in America believe in a God. The evangelist want government to be ran by religion. Jesus did not want religion. He wanted us to be Godly. Politicians and evangelist are using believers for votes. They use topics that aren't going to change the world and how it is ran. But that might bother us due to our religious beliefs. Such as abortion and gay. These topics will never be settled by politics. Religions think they have to be the law of the land. But Jesus wanted us to follow the law of the land yet have freedom of will. He never called Herod a fag. You just have to do research. People cannot be cloned. Freedom of will would be the best way to go. Freedom.
