I need to go over my apartment manager's head with an issue.
My complex has recently been taken over by a new company.
How would I find out the company, without asking my landlord?

Thank you

Thank you for the quick replies everyone!
I did not mean the "landlord". I meant the onsite manager. And I am looking for the owner of the complex. Thanks again.

Contact your local register of deeds and you shouldn't have any problem finding it. Most places now have online databases to do this. If you give me the name of the complex, address, and city and state I can find the owner and their contact info for you. Even if you do get the owners name you are probably going to find it difficult to contact them. Let me know if you need further help.

The landlord IS the owner! Maybe your landlord got a new property management firm to run the complex for him. Your best bet is to deal with the on-site property manager. If that fails, go to city hall.

Most apartment complexes are owned by corporations, often at the end of a long tangled ownership web. You could check the county tax collector and see who is listed as the owner, but that information may not do you any good especially if it's owned by a corporation.

The landlord is the owner. You might ask want to talk to the head of the new management company. They should tell you who the owner is, or it might be listed somewhere on your lease. As a last resort, the city will have a record of the property owner. Contact the tax assessor office.

Yes. I seen it happen in the apartment complex my daughter lives in. If the eviction was for behavioral problems when they lived there it could happen again as a guest
