I don't really care about the points, but yes, the music you listen to usually reflects the person you are. I listen to just about everything, and my personality is a mix of little bits of just about everything. I have a friend who is gothic and wicka, she loves the dark sounding music, whens someones been dumped and they're hurt, they listen to sad music about breaking up or forgotten love, when someones in a good mood, they turn on the radio to an upbeat station and start dancing around, it's not always your personality being reflected, sometimes its more the mood your in. Different people listen to different music, and that says something

I could care less about the 10 points, I just like the question.
I think music reflects everyone's personalities. When I am sad or depressed, I will listen to Sarah McLachlan, Dido, Cold, Staind, Tori Amos, Ani Difranco, Bjork, Avril Lavigne, Ben Jelen, Billie Holiday, Elliott Smith, Oasis, Enya, Eric Clapton, Definitely some Eva Cassidy, certain songs with Maynard, Straylight Run, Used, Tonic, U2.
When I am in a pissed off/angry mood I will listen to Manson, Bile, Nine Inch Nails, Stabbing Westward, Papa Roach, Coal Chamber, Sevendust, Adema, Avenged Sevenfold, Tool, Zeromancer, Godsmack, Green Day, KoRn, Rammstein, Definitely some Lacuna Coil, Mudvayne, Linkin Park, Offsping, Prodigy, Rob Zombie/White Zombie, VNV Nation.
When I am tired or relaxed I will listen to Placebo, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Blind Melon, Lynard Skynard, Dave Matthews Band, Johnny Cash, Pink Floyd, CCR, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Cruxshadows, Bella Morte, Beborn Beton, Voltaire, Hendrix, Joplin, Grateful Dead, Josh Groban, Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots.
In a regular mood, I will listen to all of those combined. Certain songs help me deal with certain situations better then others. I honestly don't think I could deal with life if I didn't have music to help me cope with it.

Heavy Metal. It's a source of how I feel at times different from those around me, but really I'm not. And as I continue to look for the treatment of others towards me I come to understand that others and their beliefs can be in many ways false. I look for a true understanding of others as I feel like an outsider when really I am only looking for others who also believe in my personal feelings in life. If I find or if I don't the music connects to me unlike anything else. When the girl of my dreams loves someone else I blast some Megadeth and understand that any hatred in my heart is being pushed in the wrong direction.

I love Jazz.
Jazz comes in different styles. It's all about making your own rhythm / dancing to a unique beat / developing your own personal style while at the same time , being in harmony with others playing along with you.
This is how I live my life. I don't follow the crowd unless it's been proven to be the best way to go or it's the way that I originally planned to go in the first place .Otherwise, I make my own trails and you can follow along or work along beside me if you like. And if you want to rush ahead of me?....be my guest, I'll get what I'm after....my life is not a competition.
I march to the beat of my own drum. I'll clap to the "up" beat if I like and to the "down" beat when it moves me but I guarantee you it'll sound good either way. Different but good.
That's my personality.

Because your personality is a big determinant in the music that you listen to. You choose the music you listen to based on who you are. My personal music collection is pretty broad, and for me, the music I listen to at the time depends on what kind of mood I am in.

music does not reflect your personality! people think that all the time. but its just a beat that a person likes and at different times people like diferent beats (slow songs/ upbeat songs) and about the drug use, anybody can do it no matter what music you listen to; whether its rap to hip hop to metal to country. and if your a happy person you can still be into hard rock. and you can be a isolated sad person even if you listen to rap. you can be in a bad gang dealing with drug use if you listen to hip hop or country. it doesn't matter what you listen to because it doesn't describe your personality just what you like to listen to.

Hi. I don't think I will get your points, but I just liked your question so here is my answer as a young girl:
I think we like the music we listen to because it echoes the music within us.

I dont know if it reflects your personality but it can determine your mood. Every time I have to get up really early to go to work, I listen to Franz Ferdinand. It wakesme up and gets me going. When Im pissed off, I listen to rage against the machine, especially "Bulls on Parade". That song rocks!!! And everytime I hear Lifehouse, I smile because it makes me think of my boyfriend.

Music reflects a persons personality because its a lifestyle. If you like pop you basically live that lifestyle that kind of mtv personality. If you're into straightedge hardcore you're most likely xxx. And on and on...
