Some of them....

Ultimate Spiderman is ussually good, and Ultimate X-men is hit or miss, The Ultimates is a great "modern" take on the dynamics of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and even Ultimate Fantastic Four has its moments.

A lot of the characters are too dark however and the stories seem irreverent to their source material at times. A lot of the Characters seem to be pale versions of their 616 (mainstream continuty) versions.
Ultimate Doctor Doom however hit the nail on the head on characterization! He's regal, brooding, pompus and egotistical. Plus he's vintage Doom who cared only about how other's viewed him.
On the whole? good but with WTF moments.

I love the ultimate line. Everything works out smoother when you account for the rest of the marvel universe from a character's origin onward. My favorite- The Ultimates.

I like that there is not alot of history to the characters---its also the thing that I hate about it!

I don't like the fact the their world is soo much more violent than our own and so many of the minor characters have been killed off!
On the positive side--I love the Captain America in those comics-with the definate 'take no prisoners attitude' -which is so a WWII type of deal. Also think **** great for the new reader to get up to speed in an easy way! Also alot of the story's are more visual than wordy! Love great artwork!!

I grew up a marvel infant. considered one in each of my passable friends grew to become into as quickly as a DC infant. We continuously had arguments of "Who could win in a attempt against" and so on. we could continuously attempt to get the different to study our comics. on the comparable time I did like in all possibility the main DC heroes, marvel was once nonetheless my poison. Now as an grownup, i'm extra interior the long-lasting heroes of the DC Universe. because of the fact i seem lower back at ask your self...and over the years, there relatively hasn't been numerous commerce. X-adult men are nonetheless X-adult men, Avengers are nonetheless Avengers... marvel basically reinvents issues with stories like Civil conflict and marvel Zombies (which may well be the two stunning, with the help of how). DC has truthfully replaced with the events. Their heroes have had distinctive identities. there is been some eco-friendly Lanterns, a pair of Blue Beetles and a variety of of alternative Flashes. each of those characters have their own history, their own tale, their own ties, motivations and connections. the only heroes who've been reinvented have been the DC Holy Trinity. (Superman, Batman and ask your self female). i've got self assurance those variations rather supplies you intensity of the heroes.

Appreciate more than like. I think it's a good thing that Peter Parker (and the rest of the Marvel Universe) can be enjoyed as they were once intended - as teenagers, or as heroes awakening to their powers/mutations. I also enjoy watching how they tweak things to keep them fresh for the new millenium.

well it's a little confusing coz some of the characters are deaged...like some of the x-men but I like it coz it gives prominance ot some of the characters who don't get much of a chance in other time lines and the stories are less convaluted.
