My daughter is also 6months and 2.5 weeks. her birthday date 2.23.06 anyway she does not say Mama or Dada yet either. She doesn't even have a desire to crawl she is more of a scotter.. Its funny. But i don't think that you should be worried. In good time it will come and then in a year or so you'll be wishing that he/she was still only experimenting with her voice.
Does your baby sleep threw the night??? Let me know

Good Luck...

Let it slide, this is normal. My now 10 month old just finally started saying mama. My first one said dada at 4 months old. Every child is different. When your baby is ready they will start speaking, until them just enjoy the experiments, they can make a bad day sunny. Enjoy your baby while you still have time to, because before you know it she will not be a baby anymore, and you will be missing these precious times.

She's experimenting with her voice, so she's fine. 6 mos. is young to be saying mama or dada. My oldest grandson was 3 1/2 before he spoke his first word. He's now a teenager and a straight A student. So don't worry... Just relax and enjoy every moment of her wonderful life.

First time mom here too and I was worried about my baby not saying any words. She started to say mama closer to a year. Before that she just talked a lot of jibberish. Dont worry I know its hard not to, but talk to your Dr they are there to answer all your question trust me I asked plenty and still do.

look i dont have a kid cuz im only 13 turning into a 14 year old boy/teenager, and my mother said that my father repeated the words mama and dada.so grab the child's attention by making it laugh or cuddling it.then repeat the words in a gentle manner so it wont think your trying to hurt her/him.if your aggresive in the future so will he.a human learns most of what he knows during its childhood.oh and the baby should be able to walk by now cuz after 6 months the baby grows kneecaps and their legs are now strong enough to sustain their weight.

I have 5, believe me she will say it when she is good and ready. All mine did their own thing when they were ready to. I have a 6 month old as well and all he's doing right now is squealing.

By 6 months maybe Dada but othewise forget it, right now you want them to say words, and in three years you beg them to be quiet.
Just leave her be, she'll be fine and will talk words in her own time.

DON'T COMPARE!! I have 8 kids and I thought my 21 year old would never talk then he said ****. I adopted a 3 year old and she only said 10 words and they were ineligible, now she is 9 and has a good vocabulary.

Dont be too concerned. Kids take time to say things. Some kids may start earlier than yours but they are different kids and dont compare to other kids cause that is probably why you are concerned.
