I have seen this happen. My associate is a great guy when he's sober, but when he drinks he is a real *** to his wife. Also, it can also happen in reverse, women are not immune to a negative change after drinking.

If he loves you, talk about it and HE will make an effort to change through counselling or will-power. In the end the person with the problem must face their demons.

If he will not change, leave him. As many others have said, you and every other human deserve happiness.

You need to be respected at all times not just when he is sober. One day when he's drunk pack your stuff and leave. You don't need the drama. I bet when that crazy bas---- sobers up he will have learned a lesson that he will never forget. And don't go back, you deserve better than what he can give. File for your divorce and live a happy and fulfilling life.

I think that you should tell him that the way he acts when he is drunk is not cool. Let him know that you don't like him when he is drunk, and wonder why you married him when he gets like that. And tell him that you would prefer if he didnt drink as much so that he can control his alcohol intake and take you out of harms way. I hope you dont have kids.

domestic violence is often blamed on drink.. to me that's not a good enough answer, if he is abusive when drunk and you forgive him when sober, you are giving him permission to hurt you all over again. this is not love, either he takes responsibility and gets help for his drinking, or I would leave.. Drink is often an excuse not the cause of violence and it is unacceptable.. In my opinion, I would consider leavening and get support and advice from women's aid.. they have an on line site.

I ALWAYS tell my hubby he aint coming home if he's drunk.
He sleeps at his mates house and that way I don't have to deal with him. It's too much to ask really.
There has to be implicit trust though.

Either get out now, or ban him from drinking. You know from other people's experiences, where this is heading. Best wishes.
