A demonic attack. I would find a church with a deliverance ministry and ask them to pray over your whole house, maybe your pastor can do it as well. Something in your life now or in the house in the past, or a generational curse is allowing satan to attack you blatantly.

I can actually kind of relate with you.Because I'm up during the middle of night quite often..I don't think I have insomnia though. Anyway, I have had a lot of experiences something like yours. It happens when I'm sleep. I can hear but I can't move, no matter how hard I try I can't move my body and I have to force myself to get up. If I force myself to shake my leg I can wake up and move but when I do it I feel this chill through my whole body. I hate when it happens, sometimes when it happens I swear im awake, cause I can slightly see, but I can't keep my eyes open. But it only happens every once in a while but when it happens it will happen back to back through out the night. One night when it happened I felt a presence, and I saw someone in all white sitting beside me, rubbing my head....it scared the piss out of me. But strangely, when I woke up I didn't feel an evil vibe from it or anything. I don't know what it is...I even asked people to watch while I sleep, but of course when they watch me it doesn't happen. No one seems to understand or know what this is. Im not sure if it's a deep sleep, or if it's a dream or what. I also don't practice anything evil, I grew up in the church and im a christian as well. But as far as your case goes, I don't know what it is...I say to pray about it cause your experiecne does sound a bit strange. But since it only happened once it may have just been an awful dream. Some dreams seem so real like that.

For starters, when you dream of a ghost, it usually means there is a part of your life and/or personality that you are refusing to acknowledge. You need to develop your identity.
Since you're having trouble sleeping, that tells me you are going under alot of stress at home/work/school. I'm a medical asst by the way, so I've see this in patients. You definately need to see a medical doctor to find out why you have insomnia. It sounds as if this is controlling your life. I wouldn't be surprised if this is related to 9/11 (since the 5th anniversary is tommorrow).
I know I'm going to sound like your mom, but... get in the habit of eating nutritious food (not junk food or sugar drinks). Also, develop a daily exercise routine. Good nutrition and exercise gets rid of stress and helps you sleep better at night.
On the Christian side of things, the Bible does say to stay away from mindless traditions & superstitions. There are some family members (on my mom's side) who believe in Salvadorian superstitions and think everything is evil. Some are even afraid of their own shadows. Yes, they are Catholic Christians. I'm a Quaker Christan, by th way. Always examine the facts if a preacher (or anyone else for that matter) says something is evil. Yes, you can use your Bible to tell if the person is saying truth or a superstiton. The problem I found in my family is that the fearful members are always listening and obeying the Bishop's/Pope's every word.
It's a little obvious you haven't been reading the Word or praying. Prayer is good meditation and you can ask God to fill you with his Love since there is no fear in love (Book of 1 John). Praying in tongues is also good for building up your spirit. Remember that God hasn't given you a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, love, and of a sound mind. I could go on and on, but there isn't room for an entire lecture. DO start your Bible reading with the book of 1 John.
If the news in your area always reports bad stuff like deaths and murder, stay away from it for awhile. I've seen people develop depression, bipolar disorder, or PTSD from taking in too many disturbing images found in the news. Ever since the War started, I have had to make a conscious decision not to watch the news daily. Every now and then i do watch BBC or Frontline or the national news.

The arcitech that built your house in 1975 encased his girlfriend(whom is the ghost haunting you) inside of the cement wall in your basement somewhere near the stairs. There were reports of her going missing,so search archives on the Internet and check it out.Her name is Lucy Duvall. She was twenty-three years old when she died. Some of her family members still live in that area. The body needs to be found so she can move into the light otherwise she is not going to leave you alone.Good Luck!

i have had this experience before. dont be alarmed, it dosent mean that you have a ghost in your house. go into the room that you had the dream in and sit and meditate for a while. concentrate on the spirutual world. you may find that you have the gift of sensing presesnces around you. its a very wonderful gift, and i help alot of people, but if you still need help after your meditation feel free to email me, sweetlilangel3542@yahoo.com, im psychic and i will help.

just a bad dream.
when that happens just open up the bible and read until you get sleepy. it will help you to stop thinking about your scary dream. i am a catholic and you might not believe what it think but if you do think your house is haunted you could always have a priest come over and bless your room.
good luck and sweet dreams!!

I think you were sleeping. I have started dreaming before I was fully asleep. I didn't realize it until I came out of my dozing. Don't be afraid. I do believe in ghosts, but I believe it is usually someone we were close to trying to let us know they are ok.
