Fire at the temp that it was in the towers turns the structural steel columns to turn to spaghetti. Its simple physics. The steel columns cant hold heavy loads when exposed to extreme heat.

So that way the Bush Administration could do the following things
1. Wage a campaign of fear so extensive and limit our "freedoms" in order to "protect" them.
2. Get away with murdering 3,000 innocent Americans
3. Manipulate a grieving country into agreeing to go into a war on false pretenses and shotty intelligence.
4. Keep all the people who pay for his campaigns happy by making sure their tracks are covered.
There's probably other reasons that we don't even know about...scary times.

It was destroyed by a combination of factors, like the force of the jets, the fire, & an earthquake (non-geological, like plant explosions around here in Texas) caused by the impact.
